As the end of summer comes to a close and the thought of prepping our wardrobes for the transition to fall manifests, we press pause, if only for a few more weeks, and continue to let warm-weather festivities ensue. The evening al frescos, shore side fetes, and nighttime bonfires reinvigorate the liveliness we felt at the start of summer and carry on throughout the final remnants of the season. Maybe it’s the year-round envious weather we enjoy in Southern California that emboldens our spirit during this transition or we recognize that as the seasons change, relishing in our final days of relaxing becomes essential before forging on into the bustle of the holiday season.
While we attempt to leave summer behind us, we never really have to look far to glimpse even the tiniest slivers of the season to jog our memory, and the Paradiso collection from Amy Ming Jewelry Boutique allows just that. During our End of Summer Sale, treat yourself to those moments of summer you wish to preserve. Shop online or in store one-of-a-kind beaded, coral, and topaz-designed jewelry that reflects all of the wonders of a summer season well enjoyed.
So whether wanting to relive a glimmering beachfront festooned with splashes of aquamarine and turquoise, a resplendent fireside gathering of reds, oranges, and yellows, or the tranquility of the cool-hued and cosmic nighttime sky, Amy Ming’s Paradiso collection makes it easy for us to eternalize our favorite moments of summer. Discover these idyllic pieces that capture the same sparkle we welcomed at the start and can now cherish at the close giving summer the perfect send off.
With the end of summer and the eminent autumn, comes the quiet lull of transition. While the holiday bustle is on the horizon, I find that this time of year is perfect for turning your thoughts inward in quiet reflection. As the days pass, I watch as my wardrobe shifts with them to reflect this quiet mood. The comfort of soft knit sweaters and scarves warming you in their light embrace are amongst my favorite things in this time of year. Even so, I find a certain amount of glee in adding a bit of artistic whimsy to my outfits, whether it’s through unconventional pops of color or interesting textures.
Amy’s fall pieces are perfect for this, because each piece emulates a unique character in it that easily stands out while complimenting my outfit. Rich in natural textures and hues, this new collection welcomes autumn with subdued earth tones, while hinting at glamour and opulence through the use of coated crystals and unique surfaces. Amy can always be trusted to incorporate an air of brilliance and luxury into every season.
For me, the fall season also has a sense of mystique in how nature seems to repaint itself to suit the mood. The splashes of turquoise and aqua in this collection remind me of spring water on a mountainside. Their vibrancy is so vivid that it recalls the feeling and taste of fresh water quenching my parched throat. I honestly can’t wait to don these exquisite pieces and embody all the nuance of fall with them.
As the days grow shorter and the evenings colder, the breeze seems to carry an air of magic and mischief when it rustles through the leaves of ancient trees. This time of year always has a sense of excitement for me, because we all know that the holiday for mischief-makers is upon us! With its long withstanding tradition of witches, monsters, and ghouls, Halloween is a time when people can transform themselves into creatures of mystery and wonder. Personally, I prefer to craft characters of elegance and mystique, which is why I find Amy’s jewelry to be a staple in these efforts.
Amy’s fall collection is the perfect blend of deep earth tones, but with pops of ethereal color. The striking corals and oasis blues carry an air of vibrancy that remind me that while fall brings with it darker, stormier weather, there is an electricity in the air that inspires shenanigans of their own volition. The blood orange hues of the coral dance like sparks off of a late night bonfire, while the browns and blues set the tone of a somber backdrop.
I invite you to revel in the macabre wonder that is Halloween with me. Step into another realm by adorning yourself in these divine pieces, so that even once the season is over, you can carry a piece of that mischief and magic with you.
Earth Angels, I’ve been vibing all kinds of airy, light, and effervescent this week. Just feeling beautifully ethereal and bubbly, you know? It’s as if the (finally) warm weather has motivated me to shake out my wings and get them moving again.
All this angelic love sends my style in the direction of the clouds and whispers for me to go with on trend jewelry in shades of glimmering whites and creams. This look is crisp and clean, and is a delicious way to embrace the brightness and bouncy cloud charm that warm weather brings.
Pearls are an obvious go-to when wanting a wispy, classic look, but mix that up with a few sparkling druzy stones or moonstones to bring in a bit more of that red carpet jewelry pizazz. The saturated, lustrous nature of pearls in combination with twinkling notes is a heavenly sweet way to portray your Earth Angel qualities. I used to think wearing all white and/or cream jewelry was uninteresting, however my thoughts about this monochromatic look have changed. White and cream jewels are a wondrous way for me to ‘clean my slate’, or, reset my color conscience. This technical absence of color can give a glorious glow to your outfit for those times when you’re feeling yourself and your angel-ness.
On days when you may be feeling less than angelic, try this quick tip for a relaxing boost. Go outside (or find a window and peep through it) and look up. The simple act of looking up works well for me to release pressure from my neck, thus instantly relieving some of my stress and intensities of whatever may be happening. Also, especially if it’s a yummy blue skied day, take notice of what the clouds look like. Many of us may have spent time ‘cloud watching’ as youngsters, laying on our backs and pondering what we saw. Bring this back. Adults can cloud watch too. Sometimes, it really is okay to have your head in the clouds…

Ok lovelies, where are my fellow April Jewels? Happy birthday month to us! (My day happens to be on the 27th of this month in the event you get the urge to send yours truly some birthday love via the Universe. *wink, wink*)
In joyous recognition of April birthday celebrations here at the Hope Chest, I want to chat about one of my dearest and most favorite gemstones, citrine. Due to my sunny disposition a large amount of the time, I was donned with the nickname of ‘Sunny’ years ago. Naturally then, I think it’s only appropriate that we take a further peek into this sun-inspired gem.
Citrine is one of those gemmies that makes any one of a kind designer jewelry piece cheery. Thought of by various folks as the “Merchants Stone”, citrine is believed to aid in luck and the swell of monetary abundance. (A gal could get used to that!) I love the look of this warm happy stone because it shimmers beautifully in the light. It also captures a range of color qualities from white to yellow to rich amber hues, thus it lends well to pairing with both light and dark colors.
On trend jewelry made with citrine is especially wondrous for Spring as its super lemon sunshine power will combat any April showers mood and boost the brightness of the season. I like my citrine like the sun- bold- so I often gravitate towards large rings and sustainable jewelry made with citrine in its raw form. Polish this stone and give it a smooth luster though and I’m swooning as well.
My wish for all of you April babes is that you have a month full of celebrations, laughter, and sunny gems. Celebrate ladies, it’s our month. Sending lots of birthday love to all of you!
Happy Birthday, Sunshine,

How goes it Jewels? Recently, a very special person in my world celebrated a birthday and as spring brings about many other birthday lovelies in my realm, I thought I’d chat about one of my favorite things- confetti. I love that sometimes it sparkles, sometimes it’s bright, and sometimes it’s made out of fun things like sandpaper in the shape of little anchors. To me, when it comes to confetti, the possibilities and creativity are endless. I also seem to draw a lot of confetti inspiration from other bloggers, celebrity jewelry, and Pinterest, so my celebratory confetti desires are constantly fulfilled.
This is why I often wish I were some sort of confetti carrying queen who sashayed about tossing confetti around people as they walked about in all their glory. I guess while it may appear a bit silly to some, I really could embrace this confetti doting queen and shower people with pops of color and festiveness (no, glitter bombing does NOT count as a fun display of confetti magic in my book). We all deserve to be celebrated for something though, right?!
Confetti also makes me think of on trend jewelry with the same kind of spunky festive flare. Pieces that incorporate flashes of bright colors or flecks and imperfections that mimic the individual specks of confetti are perfect to wear to a party or any time you want to embrace your confetti love (even if you don’t want to shower yourself or others in it). Your confetti inspired jewels could bring out metallic aspects of your outfit or they could inspire a party mood with a sprinkle of a polka dot or sparkling theme. Like I said, endless possibilities.
Today EVERYDAY- Celebrate yourself, birthday or not. Whether you carry a single little dot of it in your pocket or you roll around in it little piggy Babe style, get your confetti ready ladies because it’s time to celebrate YOU!

Hey Jewels! How goes it? Spring is here! While Mother Nature continues to cover some of us with more glittering snowflakes and frigid temperatures, I’m going green with a slew of sustainable jewelry in shades of this ‘lucky’ color.
The fresh greens of Spring serve as a reminder of the season’s renewal and blooming beginnings. I love the pastel greens of spring because they work wonders to add a serene, yet definitive, pop to your outfit. These plucky shades of green are sometimes overshadowed by the striking yellows, pretty pinks, and soft lavenders of the season. To be clear, I’m a fan of all of these Spring pretties (I always give credit where credit is due!). It’s time though, for green to have another moment to shine.
On trend jewelry designed in our underdog green is such a sweet treat for budding warmth and longer days. When coupled with a fiery coral, pastel greens truly shows off their cooling nature. This combo of warmth and coolness, fire and water, makes this duo totally Spring chic. For a more tone-on-tone look (I super love this one, gals), set your greens with a rich, bright turquoise. I’m envisioning a cheeky turquoise capri with a white top and a party of fresh green jewels. So fun! I also love the idea of turquoise and green together because of the homage the combination pays to the land-meets-sky notion. Mother ‘N’ would be proud.
Greens are the perfect way to send winter out with a kiss and greet Spring with a smile. So smile away, Spring beauties!

For me, Jewels, life is all about balance and mixed elements. As I write this, I’m enjoying a bowl of cherry tomatoes with a side of a few donut holes. (My Hope Chest is a judgment free zone, remember that! We know that I’m totally into the delicious variety mix of life here.)
Random snacking aside, I like my jewelry like I like my life- stunning, flexible, and a bit surprising. My current on trend jewelry favorite is a glorious mix of leather (yes, faux leather counts, my animal loving minxes) and metal. The soft suppleness of leather combined with the forceful structure of metal is really quite genius in my eyes. Pieces comprised of these two elements are a fashionably sublime way to show both the relaxed and all encompassing aspects of your style.
Leather and metal makes me think of celebrity jewelry worn by both the gals and the guys. I mean, tell me you wouldn’t love a matching his and hers bracelet set with Justin Timberlake or a total girlfriend worthy bestie bracelet with the likes of Lauren Conrad or Gabrielle Union? Seriously. Sign. Me. Up. This jewelry duo spans gender, style, career, age, the works. It’s also just plain cool.
If you’re not quite on the flexi flashy leather-meets-metal combo yet, I promise you, the water’s fine- come on in! Pairing these jewelry pals is incredibly simple, as they give you a million options. You can go all Where the Wild Things Are and style them with bold prints and blowing hair (like you’re walking around with a fan to perfectly billow your locks around you all day), or you can kick it old school with a tee, Chucks, and some Ray-Bans. Nautical themes lend well to the leather-metal look also, with all those stripes, cool knots, and anchors. Dressed up or down, this gush worthy of a duo lures us in like JT circa those good ol’ ‘NSYNC days swooning, ‘It’s Gonna Be Me.’ Thanks Justin, I couldn’t have said it better.
Anchors away, it really was gonna be leather-metal magic all along.

Jewels! Happy February! Are any of you finding it difficult to believe that it’s already the second month of 2014? I definitely am.
This month, we celebrate with a most royal and gorgeous stone- amethyst. This violet hued stone is a member of the quartz family and is thought to have some pretty significant powers. I say beauty is a power and amethyst is a major power player! It is known as a stone to aid in success, focus, spirituality, and headache relief. Amethyst is also said to protect from over indulgence, which makes good sense that it’s February’s stone. Perhaps it will help curb my indulgence of those seriously decadent Valentine’s Day (or, let’s be honest, any day) chocolates. Yummy!
On trend jewelry made with amethyst has a stunning regal quality about it. Something just clicks inside me when I see a glorious piece of amethyst one of a kind designer jewelry. When I wear amethyst jewels, I instantly feel more noble. This is one of those stones that discretely improves my posture and mood when I wear it because I become more aware of my womanly essence. Amethyst’s purple shades make this stone particularly special for me because purple is my Queen’s- my mother- favorite color.
I like amethyst because it can be both a total drama queen and a subtle beauty. Natural twinkling clusters of raw amethyst give off a superbly dramatic look when paired with collared button downs and tailored pants. Wearing a pendant or large choker made of raw amethyst with your business attire will add the perfect amount of stunning drama to your daily meetings. Faceted amethyst can make for a slightly more subtle, but no less crowd pleasing, way to wear this beauty. A single strand of large faceted amethyst beads in a sumptuous lavender shade would look incredibly charming with your business wear or a frilly tutu (my inner little girl supports this tutu business fully, by the way). Feel free to wear your most dazzling tiara as well, you pretty princess, you!
Noble respect and frilly tutus,

Jewels, it’s Hammer time! Okay, MC Hammer puns aside, it really is hammer time. This week at the Hope Chest I’m buzzing about hammered jewelry. It’s all things fashion forward and completely chic.
Hammering is a crazy cool on trend jewelry look that will give your outfit a number of different appeals. Yet again why I like this effect on jewelry- serious multipurpose magic. Let’s discuss.
Sparkle One: Instantly when I see hammered jewelry, it makes me think of rock-stars and bold, edgy looks. Just picture arms decked out in shiny hammered bracelets strumming electric guitars and serenading the crowd with drum solos. (Sometimes I like to pretend that I’m the guitarist with the greatest riffs, even if it’s just at the air guitar).
Sparkle Two: Hammered jewelry has a great bohemian sense about it. These pieces, when paired with flowing skirts or beachy hair waves, look supremely earthy and easy going. Just as they can have a rough and tough look to them, hammered jewels can be a softer addition to an outfit when snuggled up with sweet fabrics, pretty prints, and a wandering soul. Groovy, baby.
Sparkle Three: A hammered effect is a superb way to give life to old metals, which adds to the allure behind this suave sustainable jewelry trend. Keep an open mind when selecting your hammered pieces, new or revamped. Certain moods and styles call for brassy, bright metals, whereas other times beckon the muted calm of a matte finish.
Let’s recap. Hammered jewelry is fantastically multifunctional. It might make you look like a tough rocked out, structured queen. Or it may make you look like the breeziest ray of light the world has seen. Whatever way you wear your hammered pieces, they’ll add to the sweetness that already is you.
Break it down. Stop. Hammer time.
